New irrigation and drainage systems

Residential Irrigation

There are two main types of irrigation systems, High flow and low flow. You can use both of them in your landscaping but each have their place. Anderson Landscaping can evaluate your landscaping and help you determine what type of irrigation system will best suit your landscapes needs.

High Flow Irrigation Systems

High flow irrigation systems used by Anderson Landscaping include fixed spray, rotor, impact and bubblers. Fixed spray, rotor and impact will typically be used for lawns where bubblers will be used to flood small areas such as the base of a tree. We design the systems to prevent irrigation from flowing into non-targeted areas from conditions such as run-off or overspray.

To reduce water when using high flow irrigation Anderson Landscaping incorporates specific heads and nozzles into the system such as Hunter MP rotators. Using these type of heads and gear driven rotors also allow better absorption of water in your lawn. Due to recent mandates we also incorporate heads with check valves that also reduce water usage in high flow systems.

Low Flow Irrigation Systems

Using filters and pressure regulators to operate at a lower pressure low flow irrigation systems include drip lines, micro sprays and emitters. Typical applications include spreading ground covers and flowerbeds where plant material is spaced in a way that you wouldn’t want over spray in the space between the plants promoting weeds.

Low flow systems like micro spray or micro rotors can also be used for drought tolerant applications such as field grasses like buffalo grass.

Because drip systems and micro sprays can clog easier than high flow systems it’s a good idea to maintain them regularly.
